I thought I knew what I was doing in life in my early 40’s……how wrong I was. I thought I had a good idea of what life was about. Again, how wrong I was. A few years later, a huge effort in personal growth and how different life is, not only for me as a woman/mother/business owner but in how I view life, in how I see people, situations and all that life now has to offer.

Scary? Oh my word, more than I could ever realise having to face how I truly was, what I truly felt and whether it was detrimental to myself and other loved ones. How I reacted to situations, how it affected me internally not dealing with issues and so the list goes on. Personal growth can be incredible but also daunting as you have to be honest with yourself. You have to look deep inside and accept that you completely suck at some things, that you may be okay at other aspects and good in other areas. So when asked what the best investment I have made in the last 10yrs is? I would say without a doubt going to see a psychologist and building from the bottom up.

Without music, I believe my soul would be dead! Dua Lipa is my inspiration. Whether you like her music or not, the words and messages in her songs for woman are a bible to live by. Gaining your confidence and strength as the woman you actually meant to be is not easy. One meets an incredible amount of resistance to those toxic in your life.

Bob Marley wrote ‘One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain’ and I could not agree more. If you have an overactive mind like myself, music will be your best therapy, trust me.

So difficult if you discover that you are a ‘people pleaser’. A term I discovered a few years ago and resonated with. I decided to read more…….have to love books because its where you can be you while you learn. You can agree, feel ashamed, feel guilt free or feel incredible that you have learnt what you have. You can also find freedom within yourself.
